Candle Care Guide
Your Pureauniq Lifestyle candle is carefully handcrafted to provide a beautiful, clean-burning experience. Following these simple care tips will help you enjoy a longer-lasting candle while getting the best fragrance and performance.
Before Each Burn
Trim the wick to approximately 5 mm before lighting your candle. This creates a cleaner, steadier flame, minimizes soot, and helps extend the life of your candle.
Always remove any wick trimmings, matches, or debris from the wax before relighting.
The First Burn (Vessel Candles)
The first burn is the most important.
Allow the wax to melt evenly to the edges of the container before extinguishing the flame. This helps prevent tunnelling and ensures an even burn throughout the life of your candle.
Please note: This applies to container candles only. Sculptured candles naturally melt differently due to their unique shapes.
Burn Time
For the best results, burn your candle for 2 – 4 hours at a time.
Avoid burning for longer than 4 hours continuously, as this may cause the wick to become unstable, create excess carbon build-up (known as “mushrooming”), and reduce the overall performance of your candle.
Sculptured Candle Care
Our sculptured candles are designed to be both decorative pieces and functional candles.
Before lighting:
- Place the candle on a heat-resistant dish or tray to catch melted wax.
- Burn away from drafts to help maintain an even flame.
- As sculptured candles have unique shapes, they may drip or melt unevenly – this is completely normal and part of their artistic design.
- Never place a sculptured candle directly on furniture or delicate surfaces while burning.
Vessel Candle Care
Container candles are designed to provide an even, long-lasting burn.
- Allow the wax to reach the edges during the first burn.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and debris.
- Stop burning your candle when approximately 10 mm (½ inch) of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.
- Never use water to extinguish the flame, as this may damage the vessel.
Candle Safety
Always enjoy your candle responsibly.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep away from curtains, bedding, paper, and other flammable materials.
- Leave at least 10 cm between burning candles.
- Never move a burning candle or one with melted wax.
- Ensure the flame is completely extinguished before leaving the room.
Storage
Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Keeping your candle covered or stored in its original packaging when not in use will help preserve its fragrance and protect it from dust.
